AUTHENTIC LIME TECHNOLOGY FOR THE MODERN WORLD

Lime Works Lath Panels a practical and economic solution…
Our product development programme does not only focus on mortars, we also explore the related substrates and the interaction between the two. It is widely accepted that the traditional wooden lath is one of the best, if not the best carrier for lime plasters, but if manufactured and applied as individual laths, they are often a prohibitively expensive option, depending on the building.
To avoid the need to laboriously place and nail each individual lath, we now manufacture and sell *Lime Works Lath Panels. These pre-fabricated easy-to-apply units for ceilings and walls can be positioned and fixed in a fraction of the time previously taken. Lime Works Lath Panels can be tailored to size and made to fit any angle, simply by using tin snips and rapidly attaching using a nail gun.
For economy and efficiency we use larch sawn laths, eliminating the need to split the material. We do not suggest this is a replacement for Riven Lath, however, we do suggest that by using locally-grown well managed timber, we provide technically the best carrier, in a form that is cost-effective in comparison with other lath-type substrates and which are ecologically sustainable.

Lime Works traditional Wattle & Daub solutions…
Wattle and Daub is a building material used for making walls, in which a woven lattice of wooden strips called Wattle is daubed with a sticky material usually made of some combination of wet soil, clay, sand, animal dung and straw. Wattle and Daub has been used for at least 6,000 years, and is still an important construction material in many parts of the world. Many historic buildings include wattle and daub construction, and the technique is becoming popular again in more developed areas as a low-impact sustainable building technique.
